Loss fee: 40€**
**For cases in which the citizen has a passport that is still valid and does not present it at the time of the new application.

Documents
If the Passport is for citizens over 18 years of age
- Identity Card or Citizen Card;
- Previous passport (if applicable).
If the Passport is for a citizen under 18 years of age
- Attendance of the minor with the respective Citizen Card;
- Previous passport (if applicable);
- Appearance of those who, under the terms of the law, exercise parental authority, guardianship or curatorship with the respective Identification Document;
- Document proving the exercise of parental responsibilities or guardianship, issued less than six months ago (when applicable);
- If the child of married parents or in a de facto union: attendance of the minor, with his/her Citizen Card, accompanied by one of the parents, with a valid identification document. To prove the de facto union, a joint declaration must be submitted under oath by the two members of the de facto union, stating that they have lived in conditions similar to those of spouses for more than two years;
- If the child of divorced parents, legally separated from persons and property, de facto separated or who have never lived in conditions similar to those of spouses: attendance of the minor, with his/her Citizen Card, accompanied by the parent exercising parental responsibilities, with a valid identification document and presentation of a document proving the exercise of parental responsibilities (birth certificate or current certificate of sentence or approved agreement where these responsibilities are provided).
If the Passport is for a citizen who is banned or disqualified
- Attendance of the interdicted/disabled with the respective Identity Card/Citizen Card;
- Previous passport (if applicable);
- Appearance of those who, under the terms of the law, exercise guardianship or curatorship with the respective Identification Document;
- <span style="font-size:11pt">Document proving the exercise of guardianship/curatorship, issued less than six months ago.

Average time to perform
Service Normal
- 5 working days for the island of S. Miguel, Santa Maria, Terceira, Faial and Pico;
- 6 working days for the islands of Graciosa, Corvo, S. Jorge and Flores.
Express Service
- 2 working days after the concession in the service or at the holder's address for the island of S. Miguel and Terceira;
- 3 working days for the islands of Faial, Pico and Santa Maria;
- 5 working days for the islands of Graciosa, Corvo, S. Jorge and Flores).
Urgent Service
- On the same day, delivered to Lisbon airport, from 4:30 pm (processes completed by 11:00 am);
- 1 working day at the service or address of the holder for the island of S. Miguel and Terceira (Process completed by 11:00 am, the passport arrives at the Store on the next working day);
- 2 working days for the islands of Faial, Pico, and Santa Maria;
- 4 working days for the islands of Graciosa, Corvo, S. Jorge and Flores.
Validity
Passport is valid for 5 years for all citizens, regardless of age.
