Scope of the Azores Brand

• Food;
• Non-food products;

• Catering and beverage establishments and tourist enterprises with restaurants;

Validity and renewal of the Azores Brand seal

• The validity of the right to use the Azores Brand seal is granted through the Declaration of Conformity, is annual and can be renewed for equal periods;
• The renewal process is carried out electronically, through the reconfirmation or change of the conditions of access of the promoter and the product, service or establishment, at least sixty days before its expiration, and provided that the payment of the respective renewal is made.

Maximum payment limits for the value of adhesion to the Azores Brand seal

The following maximum limits are set for payment of the value of membership of the label, per promoter, defined according to the turnover registered in the financial year prior to the application/renewal:

• Less than 1 million euros: €150.00 (one hundred and fifty euros);
• Equal to or greater than 1 million euros and less than 5 million euros: 300.00€ (three hundred euros);
• Equal to or greater than 5 million euros: 500.00€ (five hundred euros).

Practical examples in the case of products:

• A promoter who in the previous financial year has a turnover of less than 1 million euros, and who submits 20 products for adhesion to the Azores Brand seal, only pays up to the sixth product (6) - €150.00. From then on, all products are exempt from payment;
• A promoter who in the previous financial year has a turnover equal to or greater than 1 million euros and less than 5 million euros, and who submits 20 products for adhesion to the Azores Brand seal, only pays up to the twelfth product (12): €300.00. From then on, all products are exempt from payment;
• A promoter who in the previous financial year has a turnover equal to or greater than 5 million euros and who submits 20 products for adhesion to the Azores Brand seal pays them in full: 500.00€. If the number of participating products is greater than 20, the rule of exemption from payment from that number applies.

Practical examples in the case of services and establishments:

• A promoter who in the previous financial year has a turnover of less than 1 million euros, and who submits 10 services/establishments for adhesion to the Azores Brand seal, only pays up to the third service/establishment (3) - €150.00. From then on, all participating services/establishments are exempt from payment;
• A promoter who in the previous financial year has a turnover equal to or greater than 1 million euros and less than 5 million euros, and who submits 10 services/establishments for adhesion to the Azores Brand seal, only pays up to the sixth service/establishment (6): €300.00. From then on, all participating services/establishments are exempt from payment;
• A promoter who in the previous financial year has a turnover equal to or greater than 5 million euros and who submits 10 services/establishments for adhesion to the Azores Brand seal pays them in full: €500.00. If the number of participating services/establishments is greater than 10, the rule of exemption from payment from that number applies.

Exemption from payment of the membership fee for the Azores Brand seal

• When the promoters are artisans, registered with CADA (Azores Handicraft and Design Centre) and exempt from paying VAT, for not having reached, in the previous financial year, a turnover equal to or greater than €10,000.00 (ten thousand euros), they are exempt from paying the value of adhesion to the Azores Brand seal;
• When the promoter, already adhering to the seal, makes a new product/service/establishment at any time, not exceeding the maximum limits stipulated.
