The Industrial Licensing is the guarantee of compliance with the rules established for the exercise of industrial activity in the Azores, being mandatory for industrial activities, and allows the obtaining of the license (of Industrial Exploration) for such industrial activities. Industrial licensing can only be obtained electronically.

- Address of the headquarters;

- Contracted electrical power and covered area of the establishment.
When requesting a password to access the Azores Industrial Licensing Portal, the following information will be requested:
Service cost
There is a fee to be paid when applying for inspection for the issuance of the Industrial Exploration License.
For a period of five years, industrial establishments are exempt from paying this fee (counted from August 13, 2021).

Recipients
Companies or natural persons who intend to carry out industrial activities provided for in the annex to Regional Legislative Decree No. 5/2012/A, of 17 January, amended and republished by Regional Legislative Decree No. 25/2021/A, of 12 August.
Requirements for the provision of the service:
Request for a password to access the Azores Industrial Licensing Portal, from the Regional Directorate for Entrepreneurship and Competitiveness.
Average time of completion:
The process of obtaining the Industrial Exploration License takes an average of 5 to 30 days, depending on whether or not the industrial establishment is exempt from an installation license.
Notes/Exceptions:
Industrial activities inserted in commercial or catering or beverage establishments (under the terms and with the limits provided for in the respective legal regimes), do not require industrial licensing.
