ESTAGIAR T is aimed at young people who have recently graduated from professional qualification courses, level IV or V of the NQF, who have never worked in their respective area of training under an employment contract, aged no more than 30 years at the date of submission of the application.

Do service in Portal Emprego Jovem

What I need

    The promoting entities make their application on the empregojovem.azores.gov.pt website, upon presentation of the following documents, under penalty of exclusion from analysis of the application:

    • Identification Data of the selected young people;
    • Declaration of Commitment of Honour that the candidate does not provide, nor has provided, in any capacity, service in the promoting entity;
    • Document proving the regularized situation before the Tax Administration and Social Security.

    Young candidates apply on the empregojovem.azores.gov.pt website by submitting the following documents:

    • Citizen Card (not applicable whenever registered on the website empregojovem.azores.gov.pt through the Digital Mobile Key);
    • Proof of tax domicile in the Region;
    • Proof that they have resided in the Autonomous Region of the Azores for at least six months;
    • Declaration of Honour that he has not exercised, nor does he carry out any activity under the employment contract in the area of training, after the completion of the respective training;
    • Proof of Bank Identification Number;
    • Photocopy of the Certificate of Academic Qualifications.

Service cost

    Free of charge. 

Carry out the service at a RIAC store

When to do

    • Application period: from January 9 to 31, 2025.
    • Period for the start of internships: From March 1, 2025.

    The application period takes place simultaneously for young people and for the promoting entities.

    Applications relating to the Central, Regional and Local Public Administration open only by order of the member of the Regional Government with competence in employment matters.

Duration of the internship

The internships of the ESTAGIAR T program have a duration of 12 months, including a month of rest to be taken during the 12th month of internship.

They may be extended in private employers, under the following terms:

  • On the islands of São Miguel, Terceira and Faial for another three months;
  • On the islands of Santa Maria, São Jorge, Pico, Graciosa, Flores and Corvo, for another six months.

In Public Administration entities, internships can be extended for another 3 months, regardless of the island on which they are carried out.

The internships take place with a maximum weekly schedule of 35 hours, at the same time as that practiced by the promoting entity.

Monetary Compensation

Interns in the ESTAGIAR T program are awarded a monthly cash compensation in the amount of the minimum wage guaranteed in the Autonomous Region of the Azores, increased by 5%.

Social security

Trainees in the programme are now covered by the general social security scheme for employees.

Training

Young people have 10 working days during the internship to carry out certified training, maintaining, during this period, the full monetary compensation and respective meal allowance, as long as they demonstrate the frequency of training.
