style="line-height:107%">National Defense Day aims to raise awareness among young people about the theme of national defense and publicize the role of the Armed Forces.Attendance is a mandatory military duty for all Portuguese citizens who are 18 years of age and takes place at the National Defense Dissemination Centers, based in military units of the three branches of the Armed Forces, according to the call notices that are fixed in the city council and parish council, consular posts and online.

The online notices contain the places and days on which each citizen must present himself to fulfill this military duty, and information on the situation regarding the DDN.
