RIAC provides BMar services – Electronic Sea Counter
Balcão Eletrónico do Mar (Electronic Sea Counter) is the portal for accessing the Sistema Nacional de Embarcações e Marítimos – SNEM (National System of Vessels and Seafarers), which gathers information on all maritime matters - titles, ships, vessels, and seafarers, and allows online services in this area.
To facilitate access to BMar services, RIAC offers assisted digital support in the 54 shops covering all municipalities of the Archipelago, and through the Citizen Support Line of the Azores Government 800 500 501, with extended service hours, including weekends and holidays.
Thus, in a single counter, citizens have available recreational boating services: issuance, renewal, and equivalence of navigation licenses. RIAC will provide, in a second phase, services related to vessels.
About 11,000 vessels and 5,000 potential users in the Autonomous Region of the Azores will have facilitated access to public maritime activity services, with personalized support from the RIAC operator.
From the cooperation between the Direção Geral de Recursos Naturais, Segurança e Serviços Marítimos – DGRM (General Directorate of Natural Resources, Safety and Maritime Services) and RIAC, a new channel of access and communication of maritime services to all sailors is thus created, in a close, immediate, and personalized way.
