COMPAMID: find out if you can benefit, the amount, and how to apply
The Complement for the Acquisition of Medicines by the Elderly (COMPAMID) is financial support that facilitates the purchase of medicines prescribed by a medical doctor.
This complement grants an annual ceiling (plafond) of €608.85 to pensioners residing in the Autonomous Region of the Azores who meet the eligibility criteria.
The support functions as a credit, loaded onto the pharmacy system, allowing you to discount your medicines directly at the time of purchase.
Who can benefit?
COMPAMID is intended for:
- Old-age or survival pensioners, aged 65 or older.
- Invalidity pensioners, regardless of age.
Also eligible are:
- Recipients of the Social Benefit for Inclusion (Prestação Social para a Inclusão) who transitioned from the social invalidity pension, with no age limit.
- Recipients of the Social Benefit for Inclusion who present a disability equal to or greater than 80%, provided they accumulate one of the pensions mentioned above.
Beneficiaries of the Solidarity Supplement for the Elderly (Complemento Solidário para Idosos) who are not pensioners or holders of the Social Benefit for Inclusion, as specified, are not eligible for COMPAMID.
Income Limits:
To access COMPAMID, the annual per capita income of the household cannot exceed €12,789, as proven through the IRS (Income Tax) Declaration.
If your income does not exceed this amount, but you are exempt from submitting the IRS declaration, you must complete a Declaration under Oath (Declaração sob Compromisso de Honra), available at the RIAC Shops.
