National Hunter's License - Exam Registration

The application period for the national hunter's license exam runs from April 14 to 29. Registration can be done at all RIAC Shops.

The license authorizes hunting in Portuguese territory.

The mandatory exam ensures that candidates are familiar with hunting laws. Its practice requires adherence to safety practices and principles of wildlife and ecosystem conservation.

The national hunter's license exam is held twice a year in the Autonomous Region of the Azores. In 2025, the exam dates are May 15, with registrations opening on the 14th, and September 11. The registration period for the latter exam is from August 13 to 27.

Citizens over 16 years old can register by presenting their identification document and taxpayer number. For those under 16, an identification document and written authorization from their legal representative, with a duly recognized signature, are required.

Non-resident citizens must present proof of residence abroad.

When applicable, for the oral exam variant, a declaration from an entity competent in education is required.
