Applications OTLJ – Youth Free Time Occupation Program
OTLJ (Ocupação dos Tempos Livres Jovem) is a program aimed at young people, with the objective of occupying their free time in a productive and enriching way, offering activities that help develop their personal, social, and professional skills.
Applications are open for the subprograms “Occupation during Holidays,” “Summer in Occupation,” and “Active Youth,” aimed at young residents in the Azores, in different age groups and contexts. Applications can be submitted at any RIAC Shop until April 30th.
“Occupation on vacation” is dedicated to young people aged between 14 and 24 years, who attend the 9th grade, or alternative curricula equivalent to the 3rd cycle, or secondary education. Young people with a minimum academic qualification of the 3rd cycle of basic education can also apply. It takes place during their summer holidays. The activities are developed in a real work environment, to promote professional and interpersonal skills.
“Summer in Occupation” is aimed at young people between 16 and 24 years old, who attend general or professional secondary education. It also includes higher education students - bachelor's or master's degrees. It provides activities that improve personal and professional skills, helping them make more informed decisions about their academic and professional future.
The subprogram “Active young” is open to young people between 15 and 24 years old, integrated into social inclusion projects promoted by Private Social Solidarity Institutions, or accompanied by Child and Youth Protection Commissions or competent courts. It also includes young people in situations of social vulnerability, who are involved in social intervention projects or subject to educational tutelary measures. It is developed in an environment of integration and social inclusion, so they can develop their social skills, motivation, and identify vocational inclinations.
From September 1st, applications for “Young Students” open until October 15th. Applications for this subprogram reopen from December 1st to January 15th. It is developed during the free time of the school year of secondary education, general or professional. Young people who attend higher education, young people who did not get a place to attend, or young people who have dropped out can also apply. Students develop activities that enhance their interaction and performance skills, avoiding risky and deviant behaviors. It includes young people between 15 and 24 years old.
Youth Free Time Occupation is a program of the Regional Secretariat for Youth, Housing and Employment, developed by the Regional Directorate for Youth.
