Activate Your Digital Mobile Key at a RIAC Shop

The Digital Mobile Key (Chave Móvel Digital - CMD) is a form of online authentication that allows you to access online services and digitally sign documents.

 

It is a simple and secure system, certified by the Portuguese State.

 

CMD simplifies access to digital platforms of Public Administration, such as the Tax Authority Portal, Social Security, or RIAC, as well as private entity portals.

 

It also allows you to digitally sign documents with the same legal value as a handwritten signature.

 

The Digital Mobile Key can be activated at any time at a RIAC Shop. To do so, you must have your mobile phone and identification document with you.

 

When activating CMD, your mobile number is linked to your Citizen Card or Identity Card. During this process, a PIN is generated, which you must keep. Whenever you need to authenticate on a portal using CMD, this PIN will be requested.

 

Each time you log in to a portal with CMD, it generates a security code and sends it to your mobile phone. This security code is temporary and does not need to be saved.

 

The same process applies to digital signatures, which you can access through the platform autenticação.gov.pt or the gov.pt app.
