Applications Open for the “Support for Severe Housing Deprivation Situations” Program

You can submit your application for the “Apoio a Situações de Grave Carência Habitacional” (Support for Severe Housing Deprivation Situations) program at RIAC Shop until June 30.

This program was created to address critical situations through subsidized rental of housing units acquired or built by the Autonomous Region of the Azores. It also includes the subletting of properties rented by the Region on the real estate market.

The support is exclusively intended for citizens who have been permanent residents in the Autonomous Region of the Azores for at least three years. Applicants must not have any outstanding debts to the tax authorities or social security, unless these are being settled through an approved payment plan.

Priority is given to applications that represent more severe situations, particularly households without a place to live or those that must be evicted because their current housing does not meet minimum safety or health standards.

Households that include people with disabilities, bedridden individuals, children aged 10 or younger, and elderly persons are also considered.

Applications where rehousing is deemed urgent due to domestic violence are also prioritized.

In addition to the RIAC Shops network, applications can be submitted online on this portal or at the Regional Directorate for Housing and island services.
